Pedro Durán y Cháves married Juana Montoya on 27 Jan 1703. He and his wife are one of the First Families of Albuquerque who settled Albuquerque 1706.

Pedro had ten children by Juana Montoya, named in his will. They were Manuel, wife of Sebastian Marcelino, Moníca, wife of Antonio Baca; Josefa, married to Francisco Sánches; Efigenia, wife of Jacinto Sánchez, Francisco Xavier; Quinterina; Juana; and three minors, from his second marriage, who had been placed with their uncle, Francisco Durán y Cháves. They were Diego Antonio, twelve; María Luisa, ten; and Eusebio, eight.
