Guillaume was named by his father Raoul in the charters to Savigini and Rillé. [Chartul. Savign.Abrinc.xxxi; D. Morice, pr. 1. 650]. The date of Guillaume's death is given in the chronicle of Savigni, under the year 1187: "Obiit Willelmus Filius Gadulphi Filgeriarum, vvi idas Junii" [Miscellanes ii, 315]
Guillaume's wife is also named in the charters as Agatha, daughter of constabel de Hommet.
