• Background Information. 968 Raoul, the second, son of Herni, is frequently named by historians of the reign of Herni II of England. He took the cross in 1163 [Cartul. Davign. Abrinc. xlix]. Raoul died about 1194. His orbit read, "Obiit Randulphus de filgeriis apud Saigneium, xvii kal. Julii" [Baluse, Miscellanea, in 8vo. tom. ii. p. 317]
