• Background Information. 926 Anghard, Queen of Powys and South Wales was the daughter of Maredudd ab Owain. She married, as her first husband, Llewelyn ab Sitsyllt, one of the most celebrated Princes of Wales. The mother of this Llewelyn was Princes Trawst, daughter and heiress of Elissau, second son of Anarwd, Princes of North Wales, the eldest son of Roderick the Great. Angharad was married Llewelyn ap Sitsyllt in 994, when the Prince was age fourteen years.
Queen Angharad married as her second husband, 1023, Cynfyn ap Gwrystan ap Gwaethfoed, Lord of Ciwyr, in Gwent by who she had two sons, Bleddyn ab Cynfyn and Rhiwallawn ab Cynfyn.
