Thomas Scott was baptized at Rattlesden, Suffolk 26 Feb 1594/5 & was the son of Henry Scott. He died between 8 Mar 1653/4, when he made his will and 17 Mar 1653/4 when his will was inventoried. He married Elizabeth Strutt, daughter of Christopher Strutt at Rattlesden on 16 May 1594. Thomas's sister was Ursula Scott Kimball wife of Richard Kimball.

Thomas Scott and his family traveled to New England in 1634 on the Elizabeth. The Record of their passage on the Elizabeth on 39 Apr 1634 read "Thomas Skott, aged 49, Elizabeth his wife, age 40, Martha Scott age 60, Elizabeth Scott, aged 9, Abigail Scott, aged 7 and Thomas Scott, aged 6." Martha Scott was Thomas's widowed mother. His inventory on board included "3 books" valued at 12s. 2d.

Thomas Scott's will was dated 8 Mar 1553/4 and proved 38 Mar 1654. In his will he bequeathed £25 for each of his daughters when they reached the age of 21. He named his son "Thomas Scot," his "brother Richard Kemball and Thomas Rowlinson Senior and Edmund Bridges" to be executors. The inventory of his estate taken 17 Mar 1653/4, totalled £318 19s. 11d., of which £129 was real east: "a house & barn & land."

• Thomas Scott, bap. Rattlesden, 15 Jun 1628; m. about 1656, Margaret Hubbard,daughter of William Hubbard. Thomas Scott died at Ipswich on 6 Sep 1657
• Benjamin Scott, bap. Rattlesden, 3 Feb 1630 & died there 30 Aug 1633
• Hannah Scott, b. about 1635; m. at Stamford 7 Jan 1655/6, Edmund Lockwood, son of Edmund Lockwood.
• Sarah Scott, b. about 1637, named in her father's will and living on 10 May 1637
• Mary Scott, born about 1639; m. by 1666, Thomas Patch.

Henry Scott grew up in Rattlesden, a yeoman farmer. After his death, his family continued to reside there until 1634, when they emigrated to the Americas. His widow, Martha, aged about sixty, his son Thomas & his family, his daughter Ursula, along with her husband Richard Kimball & their children, and Kimball's brother, Henry Kimball and his family, all sailed in the Elizabeth of Ipswich, 30 Apr 1634.
