Henry Scott, son of Edmund Scott, was likely born near Rattlesden in Suffolk around 1565, England, and was buried there 24 Dec 1624. He married in Rattlesden, 25 Jul 1594, to Martha Whatlock, who had b een baptised there on 18 Jul 1568, and died before befor 1653. Martha was the daughter of Thomas Whatlock and his wife Joan.

Henry Scott grew up in Rattlesden, a yeoman farmer. After his death, his family continued to reside there until 1634, when they emigrated to the Americas. His widow, Martha, aged about sixty, his son Thomas & his family, his daughter Ursula, along with her husband Richard Kimball & their children, and Kimball's brother, Henry Kimball and his family, all sailed in the Elizabeth of Ipswich, 30 Apr 1634.

Henry Scott left a will of which a brief abstract is obtainable:
"Henry Skott of Rattlesden, Suffolk, Yeoman, 24 Sep 1623, proved 10 Jan 1624. To my wife Martha the house wherein I dwell &c. during term of her natural life; after that to my son Roger Skott and his heirs forever. To Abigail Kemball my grandhicld forty shillings at her age of one and twenty years. To my grandchild Henry Kembal twenty shillings at age of one and twenty and the same sum to grandchildren Elizabeth and Richard Kemball at the same age. To Thomas Skott five pounds within one year after my desease. To Peter Devereux, minister of Rattlesden, ten shillings. Wife Martha to be executrix."
