Juan de Ribera, thirty-three years old and married, was residing among the refugee colonists at Ysleta del Paso in 1685. He came to New Mexico with the reconquest in 1693, when he declared himself a native of New Mexico. His wife was Jusisa de Ocanto, and their son, Francisco married a Juana Romero at Alburquerque in 1710.

Juan de Ribera and his wife Luisa de Ocanto had a daughter, María, who married Francisco García in 1697 at the age of 17.

Juan married Luisa López de Ocanto, daughter of Domingo López de Ocanto and Juana de Mondragón, about 1680 in Guadalupe del Paso, Nuevo Méjico. Nueva España. (Luisa López de Ocanto was born about 1665.)
