Weis's Ancestral Roots. 143:28-29, Lucy de Mohun, daughter, of Sir Reyold de Mohun by proably his first wife Hawise Fitz Geoffrey. Lucy de Mohun married Sir John de Grey of Codnor, co. Derby, who was dead before 5 Jan 1271/2 and the son of Sir Richard Grey and Lucy de Humez. 160

• Background Information. 141 Sir Richard de Grey, so and heir of Henry de Grey and Iseude de Bardolf his wife, was with his brother John employed in Guernsey and Jersey in 1226 [Close Roll, 10 Hen. III, m. 16] and they were wardens thereof [Patent Rolls, passim] He was sheriff of Essex and Hertts in 1239, in which year he had a grant of free warren in Thurrock and a market and fiar there [Charter Roll, 2 Feb 1239, 23 Hen. III, mm. 7 & 5]. He was summoned for military service 15 Jun (1242) 26 Hen. III. The King took his homage for his mother's lands 13 Jul 1246. [Cal.
