Weis's Ancestral Roots. 143:28-29, Lucy de Mohun, daughter, of Sir Reyold de Mohun by proably his first wife Hawise Fitz Geoffrey. Lucy de Mohun married Sir John de Grey of Codnor, co. Derby, who was dead before 5 Jan 1271/2 and the son of Sir Richard Grey and Lucy de Humez. 160

• Background Information. 141 Sir John de Grey of Codnor was son and heir of Sir Richard and father of Henry de Grey, summoned by writ 1299. As John, son of Richard de Grey, he had a grant of wine, 20 May 1244, with William de Huntercombe, for their feast, they being about to receive their arms at Whitsuntide [Close Roll, 28 Hen. III, m. 10). He was associated with his father in the events of 1263, &c.
Sir John de Grey married Lucy, daughter of Sir Reynold de Mohun, by Hawise, daughter and heir of William Fleming [Sir H. Maxwell-Lyte, A History of Dunster, vol. i, p. 30], and died before 5 Jan. 1271/2 [Cal. Inq. p. m., Hen. III, no. 810. Inqs., cos. York, Nottingham, Norfolk, Essex, Kent and Derby]. His widow had summons for military service 12 Dec. (1276) 5 Edw. I and 24 May (1282) 10 Edw. I.
