Walter's mother was Joan, dau. of Sir Edmund Hussey, of Holbrook and Charleton-Musgrave, co. Som. I have a descent from Charlemagne through this family. Her ancestor Hubert Hussey m. a dau. of Richard III, Duke of Normandy, son of Judith of Brittany, dau. of Conan I, Duke of Brittany, and Ermengarde of Anjou, dau. of Geoffrey "Grisgonelle" and Adelaide de Vermandois. From there it should be easy. If not I have more. My sources are: Hutchins' Dorset 4:312; Crispin's "Falaise Roll" p. 121; Wallop Family #559; Harleian (Visitation of Dorset) 20:58
