• Background Information. 141 Joan Mortimer, born at Caerphilly Castle (her father being under age), and baptized there, 24 Nov 1291. Richard's Castle was included in her pourparty. She married, 1stly, by 12 Aug 1305, Thomas de Bykenore. Thomas died s.p., circa 1316. She married, 2ndly, Richard Talbot, [younger brother of Gilbert, 1st Lord Talbot] in her right, of Richard's Castle. She died before 12 Jan 1344.
Sir Richard Talbot married (about 1317 or before 1 Aug 1320), Joan, widow of Thomas de Bykenore (who died between 10 Oct and 30 Dec 1316), 1st daughter and coheir of Hugh de Mortimer, Lord Mortimer, of Richard's Castle, by Maud, a niece of William le Marshal. Richard Talobot died shortly before 10 Oct 1328, and was buried with his grandfather, Gilbert Talbot, in Wormesley Priory, co. Hereford. His widow, who was born at Caephilly Castle and baptized there 24 Nov 1292, died shortly before 12 Jan 1340, at age 49,
