• Background Information. 141 Gilbert de Lacy's daughter Margaret married John de Verdun. Margaret had a sister and coheir, Maud, who married first, Piers de Genevre, sometime before 19 Feb 1243/4. Piers de Genevre died in 1249 sometime before 29 June, and Maud married for a second time, before 11 Apr 1304, to Geoffrey de Geneville. Gilbert de Lacy, also had a son and heir, Walter, who was living 15 May 1238, when his grandfather acknowledged him as his heir, but he died without legitimate issue before 1241.
