Ambrosio Sáez was a captain residing in the Sandia area, and a native of El Valle de San Bartolomé, Nueva Vizcaya, Nuevo España. He had also lived in Chihuahua, which was named San Felipe de Jesús at the time. His wife was Ana Rodríguez de Anaya. In 1665, he declared he was twenty-five years old and twenty-nine in 1667.
