• Web Reference: Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Armengol IV de Urgell. Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium records that "Ermengaudus de Gerb filius eius" (named after the castle which he built) succeeded "Ermengaudus…dictus de Barbastre" in 1065, and died in 1092 [Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium 12, RHGF XI, p. 291]. His first wife was named Lucía and his second wife was Adelaide de Provence comtessa de Forcalquer, daughter of Guillaume Bertrand and his wife Adelais de Cavanez. The Histoire Générale de Languedoc records her parentage and marriage but does not cite the primary source on which this is based [Histoire Générale de Languedoc 3rd Edn. Tome IV, Notes, 14.XXVIII, p. 71]. His first wife, Lucía, was the mother of Armengol VI, Teresa and Estefania de Urgell. His scond wife was the mother of Guillem de Urgell.
Armengol married Adelaide de Forcalquier. (Adelaide de Forcalquier died after 1129.)
