"The Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium records that "Ermengaudus" held the county of Urgell for 28 years and died in 1038 [Gesta Comitum Barcinonensium 12, RHGF XI, p. 290]." His first wife was named Arsenda and his second was Velasquita (Constanza) who was the mother of Armengol III de Urgell "el de Barbastro".
