"Borellus…comes et marchio…filios meos Raymundo et Ermengode" ordered the security of "castro…Cardona", constructed by "avus meus Wifredus comes et marchio", by charter dated 9 Apr 986, subscribed by "Geribertus vicecomes…Gocefridus frater Borelli comes" [Veterum Scriptorum I, p. 336]. The Chronicon alterum Rivipullense records the death in 1010 of "Ermengaudus comes Urgelli" [Viage Literario, Tome V, Apendice, Chronicon alterum Rivipullense, p. 244]. Armengol and his wife "Geriberga" sold property to a vassal by charter dated 11 Jun 1101 [Bofarull y Mascaró (1836) Tomo I, p. 149, citing Archivo de Ripoll, armario 2 cajón 2, legajo pequeño].
Armengol married Gerberge de Provence, daughter of Rotbold comté de Provence and Emilde de Gévaudan. (Gerberge de Provence died after 1010.)
