• Background Information. 947 Alice de Dunstanville was the daughter of Alan Dunstanville and niece of Robert de Dunstanville. She was the sister of Walter and Alan. she married before the year 1160 to Thomas Basset, usually styled of Hedendon. Thomas died abt Feb 1181, but she was still a live in 1186. Their children were: a daughter who married Albert de Gresley, who died about 1179 and she married for a second time to Wido de Creoun (Guy de Craon); Gilbert, Thomas and Alan. Each of their sons attained a great position and had been reputed of Baronial Rank. Gilbert was the founder of the Burchester Priory, and was usually styled of Hedendon. Gilbert died in 1205, leaving a sole daughter and heir, Eustachia, then wife of Richard de Camville. Thomas Basset, second son, was usually styled of Colinton and died in 1220, leaving three daughter as his coheirs. Lastly, Alan Basset, usually styled of Wycombe, seems to have lived until 1232, and left three sons, each in turn, enjoyed his honors, but had no male issue.
