Robert de Monte Alto, or Montalt, was the son an heir of Randulfo Monte Alto, and was like his father, Dapifer or Hereditary Seneschal to the earl of Cheshire. He lived during the reign of Stephen. He married a woman named Leucha, who held the rectory of Neston in her dower. She is named in the retrospective In inquisition of Edward I respecting the dower of the ladies of Hawarden.
