Santiago de Jesús Rael, 26, español, single, the legitimate son of Eusebio Rael and the late Rosa Montoya, citizens of the Cochití jurisdiction. María Serafina Martín, 15 years, 7 months and 29 days, española, single the daughter of Agustín Martín and María Candelaria Chaves, citizens of Cochití. The couple were related in the fourth degree of consanguinity on a traverse line.

When Father Martínez de Arellano question Santiago de Jesús Rael, he stated that he had been a citizen of that jurisdiction for about seven months and had known María Serafina for about four months. María Serafina Martín said that she had lived in the area for about three years and that she had her parent's permission to marry.

Witnesses: José Saavedra, 70, citizen of Alamenda in the Alburquerque jurisdiction; Juan José Lucero, 60, married, citizen in the Albuquerque jurisdiction; Juan Ygnacio Salas, 76, citizen of the Cochití area.

Father Martínez de Arellano forwareded the proceed to Durango. On 22 Jul 1824, Bishop Castañiza granted a dispensation and assigned as penance that both parties were to take communion more than required annually by the church's precepts and recit one rosary of five mysteries every day for a week. He ordered the priest at Cochití to publish banns. Assuming no new impediment arose, he was to marry the couple, granting them the nuptial blessing.

1. 29 Jul 1798, Albuquerque, Father Guerra baptized three-day old Santiago de Jesús, the legitimate son of Eusebio Rael and Rosa Montoya. His godparents were Cristóbal Ortega and Gertrudis Romero.

2. 16 Oct 1808, father José de Peña baptized seven-day-old María Serafina, the legitimate daughter of Agustín Martín and María Candelaria Chaves. Her godparents were Vicente Ortiz and María Bárbara Silva.
