~Ormerod, " Memoir of the Lancashire House of Le Noreis or Norres, and of it Speke Branch in Particular," Transactions of the Historic Society of Lancashire and Cheshire, ser.1 v.2 1849-1850, omits this Henry. Steve Norris of The "le Norreys" family in England from 1135 to 1650. believes that Ormerod made a mistake in his pedgree of le Norris. He says he has copies of the documents of deeds to prove this. Also, The Victoria County History: A History of the County of Lancaster: Vol. 3, p. 131-140. agrees with Steve. Steve also supplies the name of Sir Henry's wife, Agnes de Ireland, the daughter of Robert de Ireland. 729,920,923
Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 920 Henry, son and heir of Alan le Norris by his wife Ellyne, succeeded his father after Alan's death in 1349/50. Henry was mad a knight in about 1360. [Duchy of Lanc. Assize R. 8, m 14; Assize R. 441, m.1 d.] In 1354, he obtained a grant of free warren in all his demesne lands of Speke. Sir Henry had a son and heir named John who married Cecily, daughter of Hamlet de Mascy of Puddington, Cheshire. Sir Henry had children apparently by several mistresses. He made provisions, in 1367, shortly before his death, for them.
