Juan Antonio Aragón, 24, a citizen of Alburquerque, is the legitimate son of the late Manuel Aragón and Maria Vallejos. Lorenza Justa Baca, 13, is the legitimate daughter of Jose Baca and Victonana Chaves, both deceased citizens of Alburquerque. Juan Antonio knew he was related to Lorenza in a closed fourth degree of consanguinity. He stated that he was related to everyone in the area.

On 29 July 1805, Father Guerra forwarded the proceedings to Durango. On 14 September 1805, Vicar General Millan Rodriguez recommended a dispensation on the condition that the prospective bride's father gave his consent, which was absolutely necessary because she was under thineen. On 17 September 1805, Bishop Olivares Benito granted a dispensation on the basis ofanguIti loci and the prospective bride's poverty on the condition that her father's permission be obtained. The banns were to be proclaimed three times. Assuming no new impediment arose, the marriage could take place and the nuptial blessing be given.
