• Background Information. 1293 Robert Oxenbridge had at least two brothers, William of Beckley and John of Sedlescombe, both bCommissioners of Oaths for the county of Sussex in 1433. Robert, in 1404, owned property in Northiam. In 1422-3 he was a member of commissions of 'walliis et fossatis' in Sussex and Kent in which William Marchaund and Hamo Belknap took part as well. Robert 1428 was tenant of Vincent Fynch and of Roger Fiennes in Herst.
