• Background Information: 252 The known children of Antonio Durán de Armijo María Quirós were Antonio II and Juan, and a girl Ynez, who is mentioned in a document of 1724.
Antonio Durán de Armijo II, son of the first Antonio and María Quirós, was living at Taos when he was killed by wild Indians in 1748. In 1742 he had married Barbara Montoya of Chimayó, the widow of Diego Romero of Taos. They were married only three years when Barbara felt that she must make her last will. Their only living child, Barbara Gertrudis, was born shortly before her mother's death. She was three years old when Antonio was killed in 1748. She became the wife of Manuel Vigil, pioneer resident of Ranchos de Taos.
