• Background Information:. 141 Robert de Stafford, brother and heir of Hervey, and son of Sir Hervey de Stafford and Pernell de Ferrières. He did homage for his brother's lands on 24 Oct 1241. On 16 May 1254, he was given extended powers of distraint on the fees held of his barony. On 26 Jun 1256, he obtained a grant that the execution of his will should not be impeded by reason of debts due to the King. On 14 Mar 1257/8 and 1 Aug 1260, he was summoned to serve in Wales and on 27 Mar 1260 to attend in London with his due service.
Robert de Stafford married, 1st, Alice, daughter and coheir of Thomas Corbet of Caus, Salop. Robert died before 4 June 1261. His second wife, who survived him, was named Joan.
