• Background Information. 1465 Critóbal Martín Serran was born around 1655 in New Mexico. He was described as "slender with black eyes, and thick black hair & beard." His first wife was Antonia de Moraga, native of New Mexico & a daughter of Juan de Moraga and María Montáno. Cristóbal was blind by 1697 and unable to work. His family resided in the Villa de Santa Fé until the family moved to the area of Chimayó where Antonia de Moraga was granted title to land that previously beonged to her father before the Pueblo Revolt in 1680.
