Thomas Tuchet, son and heir, born 1244, was a ward of John Mansel. He witnessed a deed in the law courts at Derby, 1281; claimed in 1285/6 view of frank pledge and waif in Ashwell; and was a Commissioner of the Peace in co. Derby, 1287. The King summoned him for foreign service, 1297, and against the Scots, 1301 and 1314; and on 16 September 1297 he was summoned to a Military Council, which was to meet in London on 6 October. Thomas made grants to Wombridge Priory, circa 1269. He married Margery and died shortly before 1 May 1315.
