Baltasar Romero was twenty-six years old in 1699, when he stated that he was a native of New Mexico and a resident of Bernalillo. He married Francisca Gongora on January 22, 1703. In 1732 he bought some land in Taos in favor of his brothers and sisters, Juan Jose, AnaMaria, Antonia, and Domingo Mariano, signing the deed with his sons, Felipe and Pedro.

His known children were: Gregorio, born 7 May 1704; María Gregoria, born 19 Jan 1707; Felipe de Santiago, born 7 May 1709; José and Felipe.

Baltasar Romero was listed as a soldier at the presidio in El Paso in 1693. He is again on the roster in 1702. In 1703, he married Francisca Góngora. By 1708, he had settled in the Alburquerque area.

Baltasar was first married to María Francisca Montoya about 1693. (María Francisca Montoya was born about 1675 ⁴¹⁶.)

Baltasar married Francisca Gorgora, daughter of Juan Maestre de Gongora and Petronila de la Cueva y Almonacid, on 22 Jan 1703 in glesia de Nuestro Santo Padre San Francisco de Bernalillo, Bernallilo, Nuevo Méjico, Nuevo España.³²⁴ (Francisca Gorgora was born in 1687 in Ciudád de México, Nueva España ²⁵².)
