On 23 Oct, in San Juan de los Caballerso, Father Ramón González received the proceedings from Father Alcina. He questioned María Paula who stated that her mother was a widow responsible for the family. Despite the hardships, she had kept the family honor. Her intended could support her properly.
Witnesses: Juan Ramón García de la Mora, 56, citizen of the San Juan area; andAntonio Lucero, 54, citizen of the San Juan area.

Father González prepared a summary of the proceedings and forwarded them to Durango. On 4 Jan 1807, Vicar General Millán Rodríguez, acting for Bishop Olivares y Benito, granted dispensation.
