Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands - Fruela Ramírez the Nobiliario of Pedro Conde de Barcelos names "conde don Frojaz" as the child if "el conde don Ramiro de Campos," adding that he was buried "con su padre en Carrazedo de tierra de Beres." Fruela married, as his second wife, Sancha Fernández who was the likely mother of most of his children, including his daughter María.

Fróila Ramírez de León was the second son of Ramiro Fróilaz and his first wife Ynés. Froila is first mentionedin a documented dated 22 Sep 1150 along with his older brother Alfonso. Froila's first wife was Urraca González, daughter of Gonzalo Fernández from the House
of Traba.

Urraca died 1 Agu 1190 and by May 1198, Froila married for a second time. His second wife was Sancha Fernández, daughter of Fernando Arias and Teresa Burmúdez, daughter of conde Bermudo Peréz de Traba. The two were both descended from conde Pedro Fróilaz. Sancha made a donation of land to the Abbey of San Andrés in Vega de Espinareda.

Froila were Nuño, Teresa and María, Diego, Ramiro, Rodrigo and Bermudo.
