• Background Information. 141 Sir Philip d'Arcy, of Nocton, Coningsby, Dunston, Stallingborough, and Cawkwell, co. Lincoln, died shortly before 28 May 1264. Sir Philip married Isabel (living 15 Jun 1281) sister and coheir in her issue of Sir Roger Bertram of Mitford, and 2nd daughter of Sir Roger Bertram, of Mitford, Northumberland. Sir Phillip Darcy and his wife Isabel were the parents of Sir Norman Darcy, son and heir, and Sir Roger Darcy, the father of Sir John Darcy.
Philip had livery of his father's lands, 16 Oct 1254 (they had been placed in his keeping, 6 Feb 1254, his father being old and inform), being the son and heir of Norman d'Arcy (by Agnes, his wife), and son an heir of Thomas (aged 18 in 1186, died 1206, leaving a widow Joan), son and heir of Thomas, who died 2 Jul 1180 (by Aline, his wife who died 1183), son of Thomas, son and heir of Robert (living 1130), son and heir of Norman d'Areci (living 1115), the Domesday lord of Nocton, Coningsby, Dunston, stallingborough, Cawkwell, &c., or prehaps, his son.

Lincoln, son of Norman and Agnes Darcy, died shortly before 28 May 1264, and married Isabel (living 15 June 1280), daughter of Sir Roger Bertram of Mitford, Northumberland, and eventually coheiress (with her three sisters of the Bertram estates.
