Raymond IV Berenger, born about 1113 and died 6 Aug 1162, the Marquis of Barcelonia, son of Raymond III Berenger, Count of Barcelona, by his 3rd wife, Dulce de Gevaudan, heiress of Provence, daughter of Gilbert, Count of Gevauden, vicomté de Carlet, Count of Province and Gerberga of Provence, Countess of Arles, daughter of Fulk (Bertrand) Count of Provence. Raymond IV Berenger married Petronilla of Aragon, daughter of Romiro, King of Aragon and his wife Agnes of Poitou and Aquitaine. Petronilla and Raymond IV were the parents of Alfonso II, King of Aragón.

Petronilla was Queen regnant of Aragon from 1137 until 1164. She was the daughter and successor of Ramiro II by Agnes of Aquitaine, daughter of Duke William IX of Aquitaine and Gascony. By right of her marriage, she was also styled Countess of Barcelona. Petronilla was married in Barbastro on 11 August 1137 to Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona.
