Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands: Gemma of Capua, daughter of Laidolf of Capua and his first wife, married Guaimar IV Duke of Salerno, son of Guaimar III Duke of Salerno and his wife Gaitelgrima of Capua. "Waimarius… Longobardorum gentis Principes" confirmed the rights of Salerno church, with the consent of "Gemme Principisse…coniugis," by charter dated May 1032 [Muratori, L. A. (1773) Antiquitates Italicæ Medii ævi, Tome I, p. 324]. Amatus refers to the wife of Prince Guaimar as sister of Landolf, one of the men who murdered Guaimar in 1052 [Amatus III.28, p. 96].
