Nicholas IV Malmains, the last male of his line, who died in 1350, distinguished himself at the siege of Carlaverock in 1300. Nicholas in the Knight of the Order of the Bath created on 22 May 1306 along with Edward, the Prince of Wales and Robert de Hoo. [Knights of England, 1:113]. Nicholas was married to Alice [Calendar of Charter Rolls, 2:464].
