• Background Information. 141 Sir Thomas Hoo was succeeded by his 2nd but eldest surviving son [the eldest son Thomas must have dsp.], Sir William de Hoo, whose 1st wife, Alice, was daughter and heir of Sir Thomas de St. Omer, by his 1st wife, Pernel, daughter and coheir of Sir Nicholas Malmayns of Ockley, Surrey, etc.

• Background Information. 1179 "Sir Thomas de Omer was lord in 1349, and presented, and in 1350; but in the 39th of that King, he was found to died seized of this manor, that Mickelbarton, Ketteringham, and Casteleyns, in Swerdeston. He had two wives; Petronilla, the first daughter and coheir of Nicholas Malmains, by whom he had Elizabeth, who married Sir William Hoo... Sir William Hoo was the second son of Sir Thomas Hoo and Isabel his wife, daughter and heir of Sir John de S. Legar."
