Phillip Champernoun, Knight, of Modbury, Deven, Sheriff of Devnonshire, son and heir, born about 1479 (aged 24 in 1503). He married Katherine Carew, daughter of Edmund Carew, Knight, Baron Chrew, by Katherine, daughter and co-heiress of William Huddesfield, Knight. They had two sons, John, Esq. and Arthur, Kntm and six daughters including Joan and Katherine. Sir Philip Chapernoun died at Modbury, Devon 2 Aug 1545, leaving a will dated 1 Aug 1545, proved 5 Feb 1545/6, named his wife Katherine.
