Mary's mother was Isabell Darcy, who left a will as Mrs. Isabella Simpson of London, at that time a widown of her second husband, Rev. Sydrach Simpson, Master of Pembroke Hall, University Cambridge, dated 29 May 1668 and proved 4 Aug 1669, which named, with others, her sons James Launce aand Darcy Launce, and her daughter Mary Sherman. [NEHGR, 50:399-400]
Vivian's Visitation of Cornwall, 1620 [Harl. Soc. 9:124-125], which gives John Launce, aged 23 in 1620, with bride "Isabel Da. of Sir Edward Darsie of Dartford in Kent." Sir Edward Darcy had fifteen children and he himself was one of fifteen children of Sir Arthur Darcy.

Isabella Darcy, born circa 1600 and died at London in 1699. She married as her first husband, John Launce, of Penneare, Corwall who was born circa 1597. John was the son of Robert Lance and Susan Tubb.
Isabella married, as his second wife and her second husband, Reverand Sidrach Simpson, who was buried at St. Bartholomew's Exchanged, London, 18 Apr 1655, according to the parish register, but his will, 2 Apr 1655, was proved 15 Apr 1655.

Isabella Darcy, born about 1600 and died in London in 1669, will was made May 1668 and proved 4 Aug 1669, meantions "my daughter Mary Sherman." Isabella married John Launce, born about 1597, of Penare, Stl Clement's Parish, Cornwall, son of Robert Launce and Susan Tubb, daughter of George Tubb.
