• Background Information. 1128 The family of Wilbraham is descended from Sir Richard de Wilburgham, who was Sheriff of Cheshire in 1259 as well as the lord of the manors of Wymincham and Radnor in Cheshire, by the right of his wife, Letitia, daughter and coheir of William Venables of Radnor, a younger son of William Venables, Baron of Kinderton.

• Background Information. 713 Sir Richard de Wylburg married, as his first wife, Margery, daughter of Warin de Vernon, baron of Shpibrok, and his wife Ada, daughter of William Malbanc. Their children were Richard de Wilburgham; Matild, wife of Robert de Wynynton; and Agnes, coheiress to her brother and wife of Richard Lostock of Lostok Gramlam.
Richard married, as his second wife, Lettice, eldest daughter and coheir of William de Venables, younger son of William de Venables, baron of Kynderton.
