Boleslav of Bohemia was a younger son of Vratislav I, Duke of the Bohemians and his wife Drahomira ze Stodor. He succeeded in 935, after he murdered his older bother, as Boleslav I, "der Grausame," Duke of the Bohemians. He married Biagota. He also formed an alliance with Mieszko, Prince of Poland by the marriage of his daughter, Dobrawa.
