~Weis' Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 34:23-24, Gunnilda married Orm, son of Ketel, Baron of Kendal, son of Eldred, the Thane. The son or Orm and Gunnilda was Gospatric, Lord of Workington in Coupland who exchanged his lands with his cousin William Lancaster, Baron of Kendal, son of Gilbert, a Norman Knt. and Godith, daughter of Eldred the Thane, Lord of Workington and sister of Ketel, Baron of Kendal.

~Weis' Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 88:23-24, Goditha, daughter of Eldred the Thane of Workington, was the sister of Ketel, third Baron Kendal, husband of Christian, possibly the daughter of Ivo de Tailbois, and second Baron of Kendal. Goditha married Gilbert, a Norman knight, fourth Baron of Kendal in the right of his wife. Goditha and Gilbert were the parents of William I de Lancaster.

An undated manuscript relating to Cokersand Abbey, Lancashire records that "Ivo Tailbot genuit Elthredum" [Dugdale Monasticon VI.2, Cokersand Abbey, Lancashire VI, p. 909]. This statement is presumably incorrect as other sources indicate that Ivo Taillebois had no sons. Eldred may have married, ---, daughter of Ivo Taillebois & his second wife Lucía. Domesday Descendants suggests that the Cokersand Abbey manuscript is incorrect and that it was the wife of Eldred who was the daughter of Ivo Taillebois, adding that their grandson William de Lancaster held the barony of Kendal which was previously held by Ivo Taillebois [Domesday Descendants, p. 539].
