Information about this person:
• Background Information. 997 Sir William de Staunton, knight, granted freedom to Hugh Travers, and all his progeny, for the reason that the said Hugh assumed the cross for him, and proceeded to Jerusalem. Sir William married Athelina, daughter and coheir of John de Musters, lord of Bosingham, in Lincolnshire, and thereby aquired part of that estate. Sir William was succeeded by his son, Sir Geoffrey de Staunton, Knight.
