According to The Witches of Abiquiu: The Governor, the Priest, the Genizaro Indians, and the Devil, p. 33, Juana Hurtado gave birth to two daughters while she was a captive of the Navajo in New Mexico. She was taken captive at the age of seven shortly before the Pueblo Revolt (Aug. 1680) and was ransomed by her half-bother twelve years later. 1464
