• Family. 247 Alférez Diego Gallegos, a rancher and miner, was married to Catalina de Ribera. They were the parents of José Gallegos (most likely baptized on 22 March 1657) and Antonio Gallegos, the progenitors of the Gallegos family in New México.
• Family Background. 250 At San José del Paral, Nueva Viscaya, 1656, Captain Alonso Morales García brought a suite to collect 333 pesos against Alférez Diego Gallegos. The document mentions Cathalina de Ribera legitimate wife of Alférez Diego Gallegos. As part of the investigation of this suite, the possessions of Gallegos are inventories. All these items were placed in the custody of Nicolás Ribera, who is likely a relative of Diego's wife, Catalina. In response to the suit, Diego Gallegos names his wife, Catalina de Ribera's as the legitimate daughter of Francisco Miguel Ribera and María de Ortega. ~Beyond Origins, Vol. 2

Catalina married Diego Gallegos, son of Luis Gallegos de Terraza and Pascuala de Ruada. (Diego Gallegos was born about 1600 in La Ciudad de Guadiana, Durango, Nueva España 247 and died after 25 Jun 1657.)
