He came to New Mexico with Juan de Oñate in 1598. He was described as single, having a good stature, black beard and a freckled face.

Francisco Cadimo was a soldier with Oñate in 1598. He was thirty-six years old, the son of Pedro Cadimo, and a native of Salaíces de los Gallegos.
Two women are mentioned in 1631 were most likey his daughters. Francisca Cadimo, 20, was wife of Gerónimo Pacheco, and Ana Cadimo, was wife of Alonso Gutiérrez.
