• He signed a will on 3 Dec 1778 in King George, Spotsylvania, Virginia. 348 Thomas Ficklin (I), son of William (I) and Sarah Ficklin, lived all his life in King George county. He married Susannah Bruce, daughter of Charles Bruce of King George (will of Ch. Bruce, King George, 1754). Thomas Ficklin [Note: Following is an extract from a letter of Judge P. W. Strother, of Pearisburg, Va., to Mrs. Nancy P. Ballard, Chatham, Va., dated 8 November, 1896: "In April, 1754, will of Charles Bruce, probated, devises to his sons, William and Charles, and to five daughters, Susannah Ficklen, wife of Thomas F., Elizabeth Bruce, Mary, Frances, etc. * * *"] doubtless survived his wife, as he does not mention her in his will, proved 3 December, 1778.
