• Background Information. 252 Fancisco Luján married María Ramos, the daughter of his "sister," María Luján. Enemies of the friars later accused them of granting Francisco a dispensation to marry his blood-niece. But Mariana, wife of Juan Ramos, was not necessarily his blood-sister; she appears to have been the bastard child of Maria, Indian servant of Juan López.
Juan de Perramos was a soldier in New Mexico, 1626-1631. This is most likely the Juan Ramos mentioned in the escort of the 1616 wagon-train.
