María was a member of Don de Oñate party that came to settle New Mexico in 1598.

Juan's wife was María de la Cruz. Both Juan and his wife were viivng in 1626. Besides Simón, they had another son named Diego. Diego adopted the surname of Santa Crus. Their known daughters were Ana, fifty in 1631 and married to Asencio de Arechuleta; Ymar, who was forty in 1631, and married to Antonio Baca; Beatriz, who was thirty-eight in 1631 and married to Alonso Varela.
