Manuel Jorge moved to the mining frontier of northern New Spain between 1615-1620. He and his wife Ana de Vera first lived in Cuencamé, but later moved to Parral. He mainted a close relationsip with weathly and powerful Portuguese conversos in Mexico City. Manuel Jorge and Ana de Vera are also likely Conversos.

Ana married Manuel Jorge Álvarez, son of Antonio Jorge and María Álvarez del Castillo, in 1630. (Manuel Jorge Álvarez was born in 1592 in Tangier, Portuguese North Africa 250,322 and died in Sep 1655 in Nueva España.)
