Nathaniel married Sarah Edwards, the daughter of Ryce Edwards of Wenham, Massachusetts. The Edwards family were of Welsh origin. Sarah Edwards Piper married a second time after the death of her first husband, Nathaniel Piper. She married Ezekiel Woodward, a carpenter of Wenham, Massachusetts. They lived in Wenham until Exekiel's death, 29 Sep 1698. She likely returned to Ipswich, and probably died there.
