• Background Information. 728 William Twenge, the son of Marmaduke de Twenge, whose was married to Lucy, the daughter of Peter Brus, died around 1341-1342, and was seised of a fourth part of a knight's fee in Garstang, and his brother and heir Thomas de Twenge, held certain wates called Salome. The Inq. Post Mort. on his death (Thomas), was taken 48 Edward III, 1374/5, when he was seised of four messauges and 30 acres of land in the town of Garstand, and his heirs were Isabella, wife of Walter Penwardern, and daughter of Margareta, sister to the said Thomas Twenge; John de Hothorn de Scorborgh, son of Madilda, another daughter of margareta's; Elizabeth, wife of William Botereaux, and daughter of Katherine, sister to Margareta and Robert Lumley, son of Marmaduke de Lumley, who married a daughter of Lucia, sister to Thomas de Thweng. In Edward II (1356-57), Sir William le Mollineux married Joane, the daughter and heiress of Jordan Ellolt and Alice his wife, daughter of Thomas Twenge, who (Jordon) was then forester of Wyerdale. ~The History of the Parish of Garstang, pg. 21
