He served during WW II and was then employed with the U.S. Federal Service, Defense Dept., before retiring as a Sales Contracting Officer after 33 years.
Frank is survived by his loving and devoted wife Joyce of 62 years, two daughters, Jan MacKinnon of Santa Fe New Mexico, and Karen Fregeau (Gary) of Jax Beach, FL., his grandchildren, Carmen and Mark Lopez and many close loving nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his sister Edna Sollee and his brother Carl Reiter.
Frank enjoyed his life to the fullest, especially with his family, relatives and many dear friends. During his active years, he enjoyed volunteering at his church, where he served as Minister of Hospitality and also in his community with organizations such as Meals on Wheels . He was an active member of the German American Dance Club, the Young At Heart Club of the Lake Shore Methodist Church, and the Senior Connection Club of the OLSS Catholic Church.
In his early years he was active in tennis, then golf, and finally bowling. He loved to travel, not only to see relatives but enjoyed going to major sporting events especially Baseball and Major League Golf Tournaments. Frank was loved by all who knew him. He always had such a wonderful disposition, people were naturally drawn to him. He will be remembered most for his love of God and his love of life and wife. It was his revered faith, his appreciation for every day, and his endearing love for his wife, Joyce, that so inspired us all.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16th at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A N., Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, with a reception following. Inurnment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville at a later date.
Frank married Emma Joyce Cowart, daughter of George Douglas Cowart and Emma Jernigan, on 15 Apr 1950 in Duval, Florida. (Emma Joyce Cowart was born on 29 Aug 1926.)
